Figure 9. If the maximum shear force falls in Zone IV and if the shear force corresponding to "reduced" maximum spacing is in Zone III, then the spacing, s = 2Asfyd/Vs, is needed until regular maximum spacing begins in Zone III, with no web steel needed in Zone I.
